Coaches

Requirements

All coaches are required to complete an annual Risk Management background check. In addition, first-year coaches must complete SafeSport training and CDC Heads Up Concussion training. Each coach must have a current certificate for each required training, along with an approved Risk Management card, before being allowed to coach. These requirements help create a safer environment for players and families by addressing background screening, abuse prevention, and concussion awareness. Keeping everything up to date also helps ensure coaches remain eligible and the club stays in compliance. For additional information, please email contact@grandledgesc.org.

Risk Management Resources

Grand Ledge Soccer Club is committed to providing a safe, responsible, and supportive environment for every player, coach, volunteer, and family. Risk Management requirements help ensure that adults working with youth players are properly screened, trained, and prepared to follow important player safety standards.

Coaches, team managers, and other youth soccer volunteers are responsible for completing the required Risk Management certifications, including background checks, SafeSport Training, and CDC Heads Up concussion training. These requirements help protect players, support coaches, and keep our club aligned with Michigan State Youth Soccer Association expectations.

For current instructions, help guides, forms, and additional player safety resources, please visit the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association Risk Management Resources page.

Concussion Training Resources

Grand Ledge Soccer Club is committed to helping coaches, volunteers, players, and families understand the importance of concussion awareness and player safety. Concussion training helps adults recognize possible signs and symptoms, respond appropriately, and make informed decisions when a player may need to be removed from play or referred for medical evaluation.
